Drew Gibson Wins 2022 Las Vegas Challenge
The 2022 Disc Golf Pro Tour started off hot with the Las Vegas Challenge. After a 52 stroke first round, Drew Gibson found himself tied in 42nd, poised to attack the course in round two. A blistering -13 (1091 rated) for round two rocketed Drew up to 3rd place, rounding out a talented lead card with Gannon Buhr, Eagle McMahon, and Tristan Tanner. Round 3 in the four day LVC was moving day with Drew shooting a solid -8, tying Eagle for second place and setting up an exciting final round.
The final round was a nail biter. Gannon shot hot, but Drew kept steady pressure, showing serious grit down the final stretch. It came down to hole 18, and Drew tied it with a clutch birdie for -13 to seal the the playoff.
The playoff lasted 4 holes - 1,3,5, and 7 respectively. Drew inevitably won the playoff with 100% C1X putting, 100% Greens in Regulation, and 100% Fairway Hits.
Over the entire event, Drew played 1057 rated golf, with 87% C1X putting and 57% C2 putting while averaging 2 stroked gained putting per round.
